The monument created as a memorial to 1000th anniversary of the
Hungarian settlement, is a determinant work of art of the Heroes' Square (Hősök tere). 14
renowned figures of the Hungarian history found their place in this composition,
which has been redesigned on several occasions. In the middle the spirit of
victory personified by Archangel Gabriel stands on top of a 36 metre-tall
column.

The first “composer’s marathon” took place in 2008: then it
was dedicated to the best of Tchaikovsky and there were concerts from morning
to late evening. The event was a huge success and all the concerts were played
to full houses.
With the solo exhibition of Thomas Ruff, Műcsarnok brings
another prominent figure of the contemporary art scene to the public.
Thomas Ruff’s work is an encyclopaedic encapsulation of
today’s photography. His subjects extend from portraits to galaxies, from the
micro- to the macrocosm.
Brit and Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum singer Pink announced
plans for a new tour in 2009. The tour will kick off in Belgium on 26th
February finishing in the UK in early May. She will arrive to Budapest on 24th March.
This year Pink scored her second UK No.1 with her new single
‘So What’, taken from ‘Funhouse’, the new album.
After a spectacular first edition in May this year,
Sensation will come back to Hungary next year. On 16 May 2009 over 10,000
visitors will be witnessing the Ocean of White Show at the Budapest Sportarena
in Budapest.

Renaissance exhibition of museums for technological
history at the Transport Museum from September 18th, 2008 to January 21st, 2009
The exhibition created as a joint effort of the leading
Hungarian museums for technology, and opening on September 18th, 2008 at the
Transport Museum, focuses on the technical accomplishments and discoveries of
the renaissance age.
